Disrupted Rhythms is a collaborative multimedia project suited to an era of disrupted rhythms, economic crises, pandemics, social upheavals and global political uncertainty. Disrupted Rhythms is a poetic phenomenological investigation into this sense of disruption.
Since 2020, a group of musicians, dancers, essayists, filmmakers, fine artists and photographers began a collaborative venture to explore the nature of rhythms, and their disruption, by creating a series of dance inspired happenings, and documenting them via film, photography and essays.
Tonight, they will be bringing all aspects of this project together: Film, photography, live performance, and a live improvised score orchestrated by Nick Hudson (The Academy of Sun). Expect a multisensory, multimedia event involving live dancing, live drawing, live violin, and projected film.
This year we will be doing three shows. Two in St. Mary’s Church, Kemptown as Part of Brighton Fringe, and one in collaboration with the Centre for Modernist Studies at the University of Sussex and taking place at the Meeting House, Falmer.
24th May 2024. 8pm St. Mary’s Church, Kemptown. As part of Brighton Fringe.
