Drawing specifically on Carl von Clausewitz’s classic theory of Napoleonic warfare, On War, we will explore what military theory can teach us about artistic practice. In this session we will…
●Summerise the Clausewitz’s On War.
●Explore how miliary theory has influence art history, especially the history of avant-garde art.
●Explore how the ideas might be deployed in relation to socially engaged art.
●Explore how we might apply this to our own art practice.
