All too late, I was recently made aware of the IFC New York’s Queer|Art|Film programme, a series of screenings and discussions which focus on subversive and singular cinematic expressions with a queer bent.
Recent events have included One+One favourite Thundercrack! introduced by one of my favourite writers, Laurie Weeks, Anthony Goicolea introducing Hitchcock’s Rope and Salo or 120 days of Sodom, presented by Peter Cramer and Jack Waters (Pasolini’s film is also the focus of James Marcus Tucker’s article “Art Prophesising Life” in One+One issue 2,which you can download here).
This season’s videos haven’t yet been uploaded, but Queer|Art|Film have a YouTube channel with lots of footage from previous panels, including contributions from Pamela Sneed and the inimitable Genesis Breyer P-Orridge: check it out here.
