The Society of Cocktails is a trailblazing force in the realm of libations, redefining the art of drinks through a captivating lens of theatricality and immersion. With a flair for crafting experiences that transcend the ordinary, they ingeniously meld mixology and gastronomy with a cocktail of artistic elements, resulting in unparalleled sensory journeys.
Their innovative approach shines through in remarkable experiences like the Memory Bar, where you are given the opportunity to ‘taste’ the memories of other people, transformed into elaborate cocktails and immersive moments. Likewise, Cocktails in the Forest, where cocktails were accompanied by the release of a mixture of butterfly species in decline on the South Coast that were bred for the event and then released to boost the population of native species.
In their latest endeavour, Drinks with Mother, The Society of Cocktails boldly explores the boundaries of the body and the alien from mushrooms spores to AI. Here, guests telepathically communed with a fungal entity, explored how AI can drive story, tasted umami and fermented flavours, and left – taking ‘Mother’ with them.
In this conversation with The Society of Cocktails we will discuss the fascinating realm of their work and how they orchestrate moments of sheer enchantment and immersion.
