The Bradley Show, Episode 4 – An Interview with Nick Hudson and Chris Howgate from The Academy Of Sun

Exploding Appendix Podcast 9: Every Cook Can Make Documentary Films: Ceri Dingle on Filmmaking, Sylvia Pankhurst, CLR James and the Russian Revolution.

In this episode, Exploding Appendix’s Bradley Tuck is joined by Ceri Dingle from WORLDwrite, a London based charity that provides educational projects and programmes centred around documentary film-making. One of the things that makes WORLDwrite exciting is not only the way their films explore radical ideas of popular democracy, but also the way they put it into practice through their work.
In this podcast, Ceri and myself discuss three fascinating feature-length documentaries. One on the suffragette and socialist Sylvia Pankhurt entitled Sylvia Pankhurst: Everything is possible, another on the Trinidad born intellectual and revolutionary CLR James entitled Every Cook Can Govern: The Life, Works and Impact of CLR James, and most recently 1917: Why the Russian Revolution Matters, a mythbuster about the 1917 Russian Revolution. Clips from these three films will be littered throughout this podcast and the films themselves can be bought at www.clrjames.uk. More about WORLDwrite can be found at www.worldbytes.org
The interview took place on 15th December 2017. In light of this it is worth keeping in mind that all references to “this year” refer to 2017.
